The graphics in sims 4 are brighter and more colourful, Any sims 3 is darker and more grey and boring. Lighting is also much better in sims 5, In 3 it was terrible.. You need NoBlu and NoGlo by LumiaLoverSims. They will make a drastic improvement in your interior lighting!
